How this tool works

Delivery platform commission rates are headline numbers — they do not include the 20% VAT charged on the commission itself, refund clawbacks, or any other deductions in your agreement. A published rate like Uber Eats' 30% marketplace option actually costs 36% once VAT is added, and Deliveroo does not publish its standard rate, so its true cost has to be calculated from your own settled payouts. This calculator shows the gap between any headline or self-calculated rate and an estimate of your take-home, helping you compare the cost of each platform and make informed decisions about your delivery strategy. Its 2.5% other-fees line is an illustrative assumption, not a published platform charge (Deliveroo's UK partner terms, for example, describe no separate payment-processing fee). The calculator applies it to every platform and it cannot be changed, so compare it with what your statements show. The calculation excludes refund clawbacks and marketing opt-ins, which vary by restaurant.
